the fine print, unusually short

privacy policy

Last updated July 6, 2026

Most apps in this space harvest grief and sell you a lonely stopwatch. We built the opposite. We collect almost nothing, and the most personal thing you write here never leaves your phone. This page says exactly what that means.

01 what we collect

To match you into a pod and keep a shared streak, we store:

  • An anonymous device account — a random ID your phone generates. No name, no login, no password, no phone number.
  • A pseudonym and stageyou choose (e.g. “moss, early days”) so we can group you with people at the same point.
  • Your daily check-in outcome (reclaimed / wobble) and a coarse mood — this is what lets your pod hold the count together.
  • An email address, only if you join the waitlist or a TestFlight beta — used to send your invite, nothing else.
  • A push token, so your pod’s “talk me down” ping can reach your phone.

02 what NEVER leaves your phone

wobble notes stay local

When you write a private note during a wobble or an urge, that text is stored only on your device. There is no column for it in our database — by design. We couldn’t read it, hand it over, or leak it if we tried, because we never receive it.

your ex is never named

We never ask who they are, and nothing in the app records their identity. The streak measures days of choosing you — never distance from a person.

03 who can contact you

no stranger DMs — ever

You can only exchange messages inside your own pod. There is no way for a stranger to cold-message you; the app’s data model forbids a message without a shared pod context. No public profiles, no friend requests, no inbox from nowhere.

04what we DON’T do

  • We don’t track you across other apps or websites.
  • We don’t sell or rent your data to anyone.
  • We don’t collect your location, contacts, photos, or browsing history.
  • We don’t run third-party ad or advertising SDKs.

05 service providers

We use a small number of infrastructure providers strictly to run the service: Vercel (hosting), Neon(database), and Apple Push Notification service(delivering pings). They process data on our behalf and don’t get it for their own use.

06 your control

  • Delete everything. You can request full deletion of your account and server data at any time — email us below and it’s gone.
  • Leave anytime. Deleting the app removes the device-local data (including your private notes) with it.
  • You must be 17 or older to use NO CONTACT CLUB.

07 contact

Questions, or a deletion request? Email privacy@nocontact.club. If we ever change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top and, for anything material, tell you in the app.

one more thing

NO CONTACT CLUB is peer support — not therapy, and not a crisis service. If you’re in crisis, please reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline(call or text 988, US) — it’s one tap from every screen in the app, too.
